Never wanting to be a step behind the stand alone Blu-ray players, Cyberlink just released the latest version of PowerDVD that adds a few nice features including support for 3D Blu-ray Discs. Now of course you'll still need a 3DTV and a video card that supports stereoscopic output -- which are actually pretty common -- and of course a 3D Blu-ray Disc. The last might be the toughest to come by though as none have reached retail shelves by themselves yet. Both Samsung and Panasonic are including 3D Blu-ray Discs with their 3D bundles, but that isn't much help to HTPC fans who might already have a 3D display. Assuming you have everything else, the $99 for the Ultra 3D version shouldn't be too hard to swallow but if you still aren't sure, you can try it out the 14 day trial before you buy.

Bluetooth Concept turns your finger phone into reality

Designed by BCK, a team from Argentina, its a very simple concept. The user talks to the hand using the yellow ring that fits halfway down the little finger, and then listens with the pink ring on the thumb. (Why is the thumb look like its been drawn on the picture?)
This is one concept that probably won’t catch on, ever. Unless you can make a display to put on the palm. Maybe there is some alternate reality where this technology came into fruition. Enjoy this poem after the jump.
The Orb Bluetooth Headset

The Orb has a flexible OLED that will display the caller information, calendar items, and voice-to-text information. So the next time you receive a ring, you can look at your ring.
You may notice that the opened up headset is hanging securely from the ear, but none of it is in the ear. Yeah, you don’t have to mess around with it too much, as the Orb uses bone conduction technology. Some of you have not seen bone conduction before, but it is a way of transmitting sound directly into the brain through touch.
Tri-Specs: All-in-one Shades and Headphones

At the ends of the Tri-Specs are two retractable earbuds that the user can put in his or her ears, which automatically turn the Tri-Specs on when extended. The best part is that no one would ever know that you are wearing earbuds while you wear the Tri-Specs glasses. You could be listening to MP3s while you’re supposed to be listening to the human resources director talk about some needless thing. Unless they look closely, your supervisors would never know.
BGP100 Bluetooth Game Pad

The BGP100 has a 4-way pad for directional control, and seven programmable buttons for whatever else the game requires. As you can see, these controllers can affix themselves to the side of the mobile device with the use of included rubber strips.
Just think of it as turning your mobile phone into a mobile gaming device like a PSP or DS, and the BGP100 is also designed for Pocket PCs as well as Pocket PC Phones
. The BGP100 supports a number of platforms including Window Mobile 2003, plus the Symbian Series.
Really Cool Portable GPS Tracker
Somewhat annoyingly Think Geek have stopped selling this GPS tracker, however there is a huge selection of alternatives over on Amazon.

The Portable GPS Tracker is pretty small so you could either always carry it on you or use it in 007 spy mode by planting it on a person or vehicle you want to monitor. You may be wondering how you retrieve the stored info and secret routes, well that’s where it gets really cool.
Once the tracker has done it’s travels and it’s back in your possession you simply connect it to you PC and download the data. This data can then be plotted on Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com and Virtual Earth to show exactly where it’s been, how long it took and how it got there.
I just think this is so cool (may of said cool a record number of times in this post) it obviously has the spy functionality of tracking somebody else but to me it is even more useful for tracking your own holidays and backpacking adventures. So not only can you bore visitors with your holiday snaps you can also show them exactly where you went.
Full feature list:
- Records time, date, location, speed, direction and altitude
- Works with Google Earth, Mapquest, maps.google.com, Virtual Earth
- Location points are downloaded into its software and then mapped
- Battery duration is 5 to 7 days of typical operation with 4,000 records
- Requires 2 AAA batteries (not included)
- Dimensions: 4″ x 1 1/4″ x 3/4″
- Comes with TrackStick, lanyard, software CD
Wild Planet Spy Video TRAKR

As a kid you always dream of those ultimate spy toys that allow for you to torture your siblings. As an adult you might still want them, but it’s doubtful that you’ll feel reassured living with a kid that owns one of those serious spy gadgets. This TRAKR would be a whole lot of fun, just as long as you’re the one controlling it. It’d be pure misery for anyone around you that doesn’t possess something like this.
Camcorder

This may look like yet another dorky iPod knock off that will never look as good as the original, but it has an extra angle. This fake iPod doesn’t play any music, instead it spies on everyone around you. Sure, it’s less than subtle when there’s a hole right in the center of what looks like it should be a screen, but if the people you’re spying on are complete morons you’ll be just fine.
Spycam Classic Lighter Camera

The Next Room Eavesdropping Device

Listening in on the neighbors is always way too tempting to resist. If your walls are just a little too thick, you can pick up this handy gadget to help you out. Instead of trying the usual trick of pressing a glass against the wall, you could have an actual gadget do the job. Plus, this is far more portable than carrying around a glass. Although keep in mind, the seller does warn that some countries do actually prohibit the ownership of spy devices. Which makes it seem all the more awesome.

If you’re one of those people that suffers from unusual sleep patterns and you want to get your body back in to check you might be able to do it with this acupuncture sleeping gadget, the Dreamate Sleep Inducer.
Here I thought that the Pyramat Sound Chair was the ultimate gaming chair, but I was wrong. Very wrong. That title definitely goes to the Ultimate Game Chair. The name really gets the point across, eh?
This chair is packed with features. To start off, there are 12 vibration motors throughout the chair that are synchronized with the games action. Nerdy and cool.
As far as sound goes, you can use your stock headphones from a MP3 player etc, or plug the chair into your home stereo system to get full surround sound. There are adjustable 3D stereo speakers built into the chair as well.
Any type of gaming accessory will probably work with the chair, including steering wheels and custom controllers.
Comfort was definitely not overlooked when this chair was designed. It’s all leather material, has an adjustable headrest, leg rest, and even a beverage and remote controller holder. Oh, and I forgot to mention that this chair will give you a nice massage, too. Seriously.
Quite a few game consoles are compatible with the Ultimate Gaming Chair, including the PS2, Xbox, Gamecube, PC, Mac, PS1, and Xbox Live. For audio only, you can use all those and your iPod, DS, PSP, or generic MP3 player.
Just to recap, you get a massage chair, beverage holder, stereo sound, vibrators synced to the game, and a remote holder. If you’re a serious gamer, price means nothing, but if you’re not, the $400 price tag might give you some second thoughts.
Well, I suppose it was about time that someone made a shoe with GPS and Bluetooth compatibility. I’m just surprised that it wasn’t Nike. No, the Isaac Daniel Compass and Blue GPS shoes are most likely a first for the shoe industry, and I’m certain they won’t be the only company with a Blue GPS shoe after a while.
Now, you may ask yourself: why would I want a shoe that is Bluetooth and GPS enabled? Well, if that shoe is linked to your phone via Bluetooth, it can use its GPS functionality to let everyone know where you are. That is, if you are willing to let your friends track you online. I suppose you could use these shoes to track people who tend to wander out of their safe zones, like the elderly or small children (assuming their little feet would fit in these shoes).

Dreamate Sleep Inducer

If you’re one of those people that suffers from unusual sleep patterns and you want to get your body back in to check you might be able to do it with this acupuncture sleeping gadget, the Dreamate Sleep Inducer.
Dreamate uses accupressure techniques to gently massage the “sleeping golden triangle” on your left wrist. Used 30 minutes before bedtime, you can retune and reset your biological clock and train your body to relax and sleep. See results in as little as a week’s worth of use, with best results after eight weeks. These precise pressure points, when gently massaged, calm the body, lower stress levels, and induce sleep. Unlike addictive sleeping pills that knock you senseless, but offer little improvement in your sleep quality.I’ve no idea how effective this is but it sounds kind of cool. The Dreamate is available from TG for $79.99.
